Meet the Buckeye DockDogs Officers!

President Matt Bohn joined Buckeye DockDogs in 2009. Matt and his German Shorthaired Pointer, Flyer, have traveled all over enjoying this great sport and all the great people they have met through DockDogs. In 2015 Matt added a new addition to his pack, Kratos the Belgian Malinois.

Matt previously served on the Buckeye DockDogs Board 2 times and is doing an awesome job as President.

Flyer and Matt also enjoy hunting pheasants, hiking, core conditioning and strengthening, and Obedience Trials.
Kratos and Matt also enjoy traing for PSA (Protection Sports Association) competitions

Kristen & HeffVice President Kristen Collinsworth and Heff joined in 2014 and are going on their third year as part of Buckeye DockDogs. Per Kristen: Been part of DockDogs for 4 or 5 years (joining a club was the best decision I made as it helps you meet a lot of people who can and are so willing to help you). I was a board member for the 2015 year. Heff is 5 years old and will be turning six in 2016. Heff competed in all three disciplines, plus the new sport of Dueling Dogs last year. This year I am hoping to have one of Heff's sons (Thumper) tag along and become a dockdogger :)!!! Photo is by Prescion Productions aka Jim Ze

Treasurer and founding President Tina McLaughlin helped found Buckeye DockDogs and served as the club’s first president, from January 2007 to February 2011. Along with her “day job” of selling printing, she is also the first Executive Director of The B.A.A.R.K. Foundation, Inc., the official charity of DockDogs® Worldwide. Tina works very long hours making sure that those in need in the DockDogs community are helped by B.A.A.R.K.

Secretary Carol Preston joined Buckeye DockDogs in 2015, and is relatively new to the sport. Her Yellow Labrador Retriever, Bishop just finished his first year of competition. Carol decided to give Dockdogs a try after a friend talked her into coming to a practice. Bishop’s high level of enthusiasm for jumping into a pool convinced Carol to participate. She and Bishop competed in 10 different states, attending National Events, Club Events, and Sanctioned Facility Events, in his rookie season. Carol and Bishop were honored to compete at the DockDogs World Championships, where they placed 2nd in the Speed Retrieve Express Finals. Carol and her husband also share their home with a Black Labrador Retriever, Phoenix, and a new Chocolate Labrador puppy, Goose.

Board Member Mark Briegel comes from Fredericktown, Ohio in only his second year with Buckeye DockDogs and the sport of dock diving. His 2 year old cream colored golden retriever Cooper Bentley, Team “Fly the Coop”, started jumping with DockDogs last March at the Columbus Pet Expo with his first ever recorded jump of 6’-11”. That is all it took to get Mark hooked on this great canine sport of dock diving. Team Fly the Coop would go on to get a World invite at Regionals at the Tin Woof Inn in Ashland, Kentucky and record a personal best jump of 18’-6” at the Lorain County Fair winning his first ever finals event in the Contender division.

Mark also has a 7 year old American golden retriever named Maverick who is more comfortable staying on the dock and out of the water. Mark and his wife Lori have 3 children, one who is 25, another 23 and his youngest age 6 and also 2 grandchildren. His youngest child he hopes will become a junior handler with DockDogs next year.

Besides dock diving, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, maintaining his 125 gal planted, tropical freshwater fish tank and doing therapy work with both his dogs through Therapy Dogs International (TDI).

Mark looks forward to serving the Buckeye DockDog club as we all learn, grow and have fun together.
